Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVOH) is manufactured from vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) via a
multi-step process. VAM is polymerized into polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) and then converted to PVOH. PVOH
is a safe, biodegradable, water soluble polymer with a wide range of applicability. The
process flow is presented below.

The polyvinyl alcohol product
lines Celvol and Celvol E (formerly Erkol) have a wide variety of standard grades commonly denoted by
their degree of hydrolysis; super, fully, intermediate and partially. These product lines offer many
specialty grades; tackified, s-grades, warp size, polymerization products and solutions.
The Celvol product lines continue to offer a comprehensive selection of PVOH products
to meet a variety of applications.
Celvol SP
The
Celvol SP (formerly Erkol) product line contains products that are highly differentiated and serve specialty
applications. This product line contains ultra low hydrolysis grades to meet specific end use applications. This
product line is batch produced in Guardo, Spain and is available to the global market.
